Java provides a way for web pages to come alive, in a more sophisticated fashion than the blinking graphics (animated gif's) you see on many sites today. While java can be used for very nice animations (such as the photo sequence on our main page), it can also enable a web visitor to interact with the page in new ways. For instance, suppose you have a product that comes in several different colors... you may want to make it easy for someone to see the different colors or make other interactive choices about the product.
